'Soup to Nuts' Diner's Club Review of Friendly's

Alzheimer's residents review local restaurant rumored to be closing.

Name and location of restaurant: Friendly’s, 116 Main St., Stoneham, MA

Length of wait: No wait; we arrived early and were seated right away. We did notice that as they became busier, other guests had to wait a bit, and there is not much room for waiting so waiting customers seemed to “hover” over seated diners, making for awkward moments.

Cleanliness: Bathrooms were clean, but the menus were quite sticky for so early in the day, which made us wonder when they were last wiped down.

Service: Service was excellent. Gianni, our waiter had a very calming, patient presence.

What did you order? Senior meals, which came with free sundaes! We also tried the clam boats and tuna salad roll and chicken breast melt.

How was your meal? Portioned just right and quite tasty too, our diners ate more at Friendly’s than any other restaurant that we’ve gone out to.

Value: The price was right, especially with sundaes included in senior meal.

Would you like to go here again? Definitely! We hope this is not a location that is closing.

Soup to Nuts Rating: 4 and a half out of 5 soup cans.
