You better have packed your survival kit for the supernatural apocalypse! The season finale of The Vampire Diaries is filled with edge-gripping suspense, shocking plot, and intense action. Oh, and it features a Bon Jovi dance party for Stefan Salvatore and his formerly dead best friend, Lexi, leaving the audience with a desire to rock out with the dynamic duo – a perfect way to celebrate the supernatural apocalypse with the Vampire Hunters terrorizing everyone in Mystic Falls to accomplish their mission.

But not everyone is tossing threats to others to get what they want; Jeremy and Alaric are back! This episode portrays how Alaric was, is, and always will be an amazing fatherly figure to Elena and a best friend to Damon.

However, the biggest issue isn't just dead people coming back to life again nor is it the immortality cure debate and who should take it; the biggest issue of this episode also regards Bonnie's death from the previous episode. WAIT, WHAT? Bonnie is gone? This news is so appallingly terrible that the shock carries over to the season finale with the audience wondering whether Stefan, Damon, Elena, and the gang will plaster a witch-wanted poster all over Mystic Falls after they discover the news. Well, at least Bonnie exited after a bittersweet scene with her love, Jeremy, and some very good news for all that missed Little Gilbert.

But not everything in this episode causes uncontrollable crying; it also invokes many awww's. Rebekah, who seems to have really bad luck with men, finally gets the man of her dreams, at least for the summer. But hey, if Mabekah is possible, anything could happen, right? Meanwhile, the fans of Delena and Klaroline screech and squeal at the very adoring and heart-warming scenes the pairs share.

Though Damon, and Caroline may have gotten what they wanted, Katherine, of course, certainly did not. After the cure for immortality is passed around, Elena ends up with the “cherry-flavored” medicine. Katherine sneaks up out of nowhere, as always, and attacks Elena for her witch friend’s broken promise of granting immortality. This catfight is far from just nails and hair-pulling; it is well choreographed and authentic to the point that even the audience can feel the pain of Elena caused by the vicious Katherine. From there, things are about to get real interesting next season.

At the end, Stefan takes Silas’ body and dumps it in bottomless water. On the ride, Lexi advises him, “Contrary to popular belief, there are actually multiple ones. The only way to find another is to let go and move on” and leaves her best friend behind with a tear-inducing exit. At the waterfall, Stefan prepares to dump Silas down only to find out the most surprising news of the entire season and perhaps the whole series EVER. I mean, can you look at safes the same ever again?

This action-packed, shocked-induced, bittersweet episode leaves TVD fans craving for the debut of season 5 in October 2013. Don't forget to check the new series, The Originals, which focuses on the Original family and its adventures in New Orleans, also coming out in the fall.
