Workshop Will Teach Kids to be Home Alone Safely & Care for Siblings
April 10th Home Alone Safety plus Caring for Siblings workshop will focus on personal safety and prepare young teens for the responsibilities that come with being at home alone.
On Tuesday, April 10, the Wyman School's fifth grade will be hosting a Home Alone Safety Workshop for boys and girls ages 11 and older. As a bonus, this class will also include Caring for Siblings.
This workshop will focus on personal safety and prepare young teens for the responsibilities that come with being at home alone.

Workshop fee is $30. The class will take place at the 41 Middle Street, Woburn from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pizza will be served.

- Keeping your house key safe
- Door safety, strangers, and home security systems
- Telephone & Internet safety
- Fire safety & gas leaks
- When & how to get help
- Maintaining an emergency contact list
- Toddler care, activities for young children, and appropriate snacks
- Basic first aid, and more!
Every parent should have their child attend a course like this.
To register your child, mail a $30 check, made payable to Wyman School, to , Attn: Home Alone Safety Workshop, 679 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801. Include: Student's name, parent's name, address, phone, and email.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Wyman School fifth grade graduation and year-end activities. No refunds after April 5, 2012.
Instructor Debbie LaFlamme has been teaching the similar babysitters course in Woburn and throughout eastern Massachusetts for more than five years. She's a licensed Massachusetts daycare provider with over 25 years of experience.
