Build a School on Woburn's Own Spence Farm?!?!? MORE

The Public Access program Happenings Around Woburn was nice enough to ask us back to update them on the Wyman / Hurld School site location.  This provided an opportunity to address some of the questions that have been raised about our site.  We explained why activities here cannot be replicated elsewhere and why flooding is such a concern.  We also explained how it was that The Wyman Neighborhood Group enabled the meals tax to fund the purchase of this parcel and Whispering Hill.

It is interesting to note that the annual cost for the purchase of both parcels would be around $665,000 and that the revenue from the meals tax last fiscal year was $904,571.  That creates excess revenue of around $240,000 which would be more than enough to finance the purchase of the parcel now owned by the Mormon Church for the school.  That is money obtained with the express purpose of buying and keeping this parcel and should still be used for that reason!

Here is a link to that program which runs about 15 minutes.  http://108.49.196.33/Cablecast/Public/Show.aspx?ChannelID=3&ShowID=7358
