City Begins Work On New $23 Million Fire Headquarters
Woburn's contractor began clearing the site for the new headquarters at Forest Park this week.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn broke ground on its new fire station headquarters at Forest Park this week, the city said. Contractor C. C. Construction began clearing the new building's 3.5 acre site.
C. C. Construction was selected through a competitive bid process, the city said. Building construction is scheduled to begin in April, 2021, after another bid process.
In February, Woburn City Council approved the $30 million construction plan, including $23 million for the new headquarters and $7 million to upgrade existing stations. In June, the city won approval from the state legislature for a land swap, allowing it to build the fire headquarters on formerly-protected conservation land.
