Community Shows Support for The Castle Arts and Community Center at Summer Arts Festival

The Castle Arts and Community Center campaign was well received by the community at the Summer Arts Festival on June 7, 2026, at Spence Farm. The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with residents, share our vision for the Castle, and build awareness of the campaign.

Throughout the day, residents of all ages visited our information table to learn more about our vision to preserve the historic Wyman Castle and its surrounding school grounds and transform the property into a vibrant community destination. The proposed Castle Arts and Community Center will provide opportunities for arts, culture, education, and community gatherings for generations to come.

Festival attendees expressed overwhelming support for the project by signing our community petition, picking up yard signs, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing their own memories of the Wyman School. Many visitors told stories of attending school there, having family members who did, or simply wanting to see this iconic landmark restored rather than lost. Their enthusiasm reinforced the importance of preserving one of Woburn's most recognizable historic treasures.

The committee noted "We were truly inspired by the positive response from the community. Every conversation reminded us how deeply people care about Wyman Castle and school property. They very much want to see it preserved as a place that once again serves the public. The encouragement we received strengthens our commitment to making this vision a reality."

The organization extends its sincere thanks to everyone who stopped by the table, signed the petition, volunteered their support, or helped spread the word. Every signature, every yard sign, and every conversation helps build momentum for preserving this important piece of Woburn's history.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to Dr. Frank DiMauro and his committee for inviting us to participate in this wonderful community event and for bringing together organizations and residents in celebration of the arts and community spirit.

Together, we are demonstrating that Woburn values its history, embraces the arts, and believes in creating a welcoming community space where people can gather, learn, create, and connect for generations to come.
