Community of Woburn deserves what other communities have - Arts and Community Center!

As a former creative student of Woburn High School, I am writing to urge you to keep creativity at the heart of our town and to choose the Wyman Properties as a place to do this. Growing up, I was curious about everything, from sports to art, and I connected with people from all walks of life. After Woburn High, I dreamed of attending a fashion or art school, but I lacked the space to connect with others who shared these passions. This ultimately led me to a state school that provided the creative environment I had previously been missing.
I went on to study at Plymouth State University, where I promised myself I would study abroad and immerse myself in fashion, travel, and art, in places where resources and mentorship were available firsthand. Although my initial experience abroad was cut short due to COVID, it gave me a taste of what was possible and eventually led me to pursue a master’s degree at Istituto Marangoni. Today, my life continues to revolve around fashion, art, travel, and creativity, and I am reminded daily how transformative these opportunities can be.
You may wonder why this matters to me. I believe everyone, young and old alike, should have the chance to explore their creative passions. Woburn deserves a space where people can come together to learn, grow, and collaborate, because collaboration is where true success is born. I am lucky enough to have great mentors from Woburn, but we lack the space to connect creatively. Many towns around us have community centers that nurture this kind of growth. Woburn can and should do the same.
The Wyman property presents a unique opportunity to honor our town’s beauty and history while providing a hub for creativity. Having lived elsewhere where history and architecture are celebrated, I ask that we preserve Woburn’s heritage for future generations. One hundred years from now, students exploring our town should see a community proud of its creativity, history, and dedication to fostering opportunities for all.
