More Than $30,000 Dowry Stolen From Hotel Room After Wedding

More than $30,000 worth of property that was a newlywed couple’s dowry was reportedly stolen from a room at the Hilton on Forbes Road.

At about 1 a.m. Monday, Woburn Police responded to the hotel after the couple discovered the items were missing from the room, which they rented as their wedding accommodations from Saturday to Monday.  

On Sunday, they went to a family gathering. When they returned to the room, they found that more than $30,000 worth of items were stolen.

Two large 100-pound Samsonite suitcases that contained the dowry were taken. The items included more than 20 outfits that included jewelry and makeup, a red three-piece wedding dress, a blue and pink reception dress, the wedding certificate, various pieces of gold jewelry, two suits, clothes and two pairs of shoes.

Police are investigating.
