POLICE LOG: Man Jumped Overnight
March 19—At 12:16 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Winchester Hospital to speak to the victim of a mugging. According to police, the victim, a 26-year-old Woburn man, was walking toward Montvale Avenue near the old railroad bed, when he was “jumped” by two males who got out of a gray, large SUV-type vehicle. The victim told police he was kicked and punched several times before the two men got back in the car and drove away. Police said no other suspect information was known.

March 19—A 48-year-old Woburn man was seriously injured in a highway motorcycle accident just before 9 p.m. Monday night.
POLICE LOG: Man Caught Looking in Windows
March 20—At 8:55 p.m., police received a report of a man looking in windows on Manning Street. According to police, a resident approached an officer during routine patrol and said a white male, about 60 years old with a grey beard, was walking through yards and looking in windows. Police said, the man was also seen picking up toys in a yard. When he was approached, the man left and went into another yard. Neighbors saw the man leave in a green minivan, said police.
POLICE LOG: Cops Catch Suspect After Break-In
March 21—At 2:47 p.m., Nicholas Colby Jewett, 20, of 8 Capozzi Circle, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering a building in the daytime (felony charge), possession of burglarious instruments (screwdriver), receiving stolen property over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250 and possession of a Class D drug (marijuana). According to police, Jewett was taken into custody after police received an alarm activation from a residence on Forest Glen Road. Shortly after, a witness called police and reported seeing a man leaving a home wearing blue latex gloves. Police said the witness thought that to be strange and called police. Police canvassed the area for the suspect, and Jewett was found at Alfred Street and Barbara Circle. According to police, Jewett had property belonging to the Forest Glen Road residents in his possession at the time of his arrest.
POLICE LOG: Unknown Man Reportedly Likes Gas
March 22—At 4:14 p.m., an officer responded to a Sylvan Road parking lot for a report of suspicious activity. According to police, a man was seen driving around the parking lot and looking under the hood of his car. When approached, the man reportedly asked several questions about the hydrogen and nitrogen gas tanks in the lot. Police said, the man ended the conversation by saying, “I like gas.” Police were unable to identify the man, who had already left the log before police were called.
