Owners, Wellesley residents Tom and Tricia Wynn and Frank and Stacey Santo first purchased The Local in Newton in 2008 (formerly R.J. Crowley’s) followed by the 165 seat Wellesley location in November 2014 and the 200+ seat Wayland location just weeks later.

After bringing on a new Director of Operations with an extensive restaurant background and business experience in the Fall of 2015, the group felt poised to expand.

“Our current three locations serve a wide range of MetroWest communities,” said Director of Operations, Rich Abbott. “Since we had so much success west of Boston in a short amount of time expansion north made sense to us.”

The Local in Woburn will be located at 350 Cambridge Road in the Whole Foods shopping center. The 100 seat location will carry the signature interior consistent with the brand; browns and warm blues with a comfortable feel that invites you back every time you visit.

Interior designer and co-owner Tricia Wynn explained “When you walk into one of our restaurants you will immediately know you in The Local. Although each restaurant has its own feel, the warm interior and color scheme will always remain constant.”

Culinary Director, Brian Bulzachelli will continue to oversee the menu for all locations. The made-from-scratch food, creative cocktails and wide array of both local and tried and true beers will continue to be the mainstay of the business. The menu will change with the seasons yet always offer guest favorites such as TW’s Steak Tips, our delicious Short Rib, creative flatbreads, a great lineup of salads, our famous fried pickles and the best burger in town. As well, The Local offers a xxxxx brunch menu on weekends.

Bulzachelli explained that while The Local will always have a core menu, some specials will be unique to a specific location. “We like to give each individual chef the opportunity to be creative and make specials their own,” said Bulzachelli. “That’s one of the things that makes us different. That’s what makes us The Local.”

Owner Frank Santo said that while the Local brand is expanding, the pride in menu and the warmth in atmosphere will always remain constant. “Our goal is to know everyone who walks in the door, provide them with impeccable service, delicious food, and great cocktails and make them feel special.” Santo added, “No matter how many locations we open, that will always remain the same.”

Open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, The Local offers a chef inspired menu of familiar favorites and a wide array of daily specials -- all made in house and prepared fresh every day. The Local also has a wide selection of craft and favorite beers on tap, a full roster of wines and fresh and inventive cocktails.
