UPDATE: Major Water Main Break Closes Most of Rte. 38 near the Rte. 128 Rotary Tuesday
BREAKING: A major water main break has closed most of Rte. 38 near the Rte. 128 rotary in Woburn Tuesday.

WOBURN, MA — A major water main break on Rte. 38 near the Rte. 128 rotary will likely cause heavy delays for the remainder of the day.
Police received a report from a citizen to report bubbling of Rt. 38 (Main Street) near the Rt. 128 rotary. Crews soon determined that there was a significant break in a large water main that runs under the rotary, which itself runs under Rt. 128, according to an announcement from Police Chief Robert Ferullo.
According to an update from Woburn Police spokesman John Guilfoil, northbound traffic will be limited to one lane all day, and the southbound remains open. Woburn Police Chief Robert Ferullo also added that there are no road closures at this time, but residents should expect delays.

There is no impact on public drinking water systems due to the break.
