National Disability Employment Awareness Month Photo Contest

Showcasing the contributions individuals with developmental disabilities make in their workplaces and communities.

In celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October, the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council is inviting Massachusetts residents with a developmental disability to send photos of themselves working in the community. The purpose of this contest is to showcase the contributions individuals with developmental disabilities make in their workplaces and communities. If you or a family member has a development disability, we encourage you to send the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council a digital or printed picture with a brief two to four sentence description of the picture. The description should include your workplace’s name, job title, and your favorite part of your job. Photo submissions are being accepted up until October 17th, 2014, either electronically, sent to faith.behum@state.ma.us, or mailed to Photo Contest C/O Faith Behum, MA Developmental Disabilities Council, 100 Hancock Street, Suite 201, Quincy, MA 02171. All submissions will be posted to the MDDC’s Facebook page where people will be invited to vote for their favorites. The photo that receives the most “likes” will be declared the winner, and will be announced on the MDDC Facebook page and Twitter. The three people who get the most votes will receive a prize.
