Police Log: Break-in Reported on Holton Street

Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Thursday, Sept. 4

At 2:44 a.m., police responded to Woodbrook Cemetery after two brass garden hose valves were stolen. Police arrived to find water shooting from the ground where the valves were stolen. Police notified the Water Department.

At 10:22 a.m., police responded to Montvale Avenue after a driver drove into the Hess gas station building. The woman was asking directions to Medford when she said her car accelerated and crashed into the building. Police watched surveillance video, which showed the driver stepped on the accelerator rather than the brakes. There were no reported injuries.

At 8:28 p.m., a Holton Street resident reported a burglary. The resident said someone entered the house through a second-floor window. Police found someone had cut holes in the window screen and forced open the screen and window. There were also pry marks on a bedroom door that is usually locked. There were a number of items taken, including a $400 Gucci wallet, two laptops, two Samsung Galaxy S2 cell phones and a Swiss Army silver watch. Police are investigating.
