At 4:53 a.m., police responded to Lake Avenue after a burglar alarm was activated in a residence. The home’s owner said he saw a black man in his 20s who was wearing a gray-colored hoodie in his home. When confronted, the suspect told the resident that he must have been in the wrong house. The homeowner pushed the man out the door. Police found that there was a loose window in the basement, which is how the man entered the residence. Police searched the area and a K9 from Burlington tracked the scent to a Winchester residence. The owner of the Winchester residence said no one had left his home that night. The K9 did not pick up the scent elsewhere and the search was called off. There was nothing reportedly taken from the residence.

At 9:25 a.m., police received a call on North Warren Street after someone used a blue pen to write graffiti on an information board. The graffiti included anti-gay slurs, which the resident said was directed at him.
