Police Log: Former Tenant Leaves Behind Stench, Destruction

Tuesday, Aug. 5
At 1:08 p.m, police responded to a Wildwood Avenue company about a larceny. Someone entered an unlocked office desk around July 22 and stole a jar containing about $150 worth of coins and two company thumb drives that contained personal information.

At 11:09 a.m., a Johnson Street resident reported someone slashed her car’s tires. Police returned to the residence the following day when another tire was slashed on her car.
At 3:30 p.m., a Woburn resident reported fraud. National Grid contacted her and said she had an outstanding bill with a different address. She told National Grid that she never lived at that location, but the caller said the person used her social security number to open the account.

Thursday, Aug. 7
At 7:36 a.m., police received a call from a landlord on Hart Street after one of the former tenants trashed an apartment. Police found there was animal feces in the residence and all of the furniture was broken. Officers had trouble even going into the residence because of the smell. Police suggested the landlord go to Woburn District Court and seek a civil complaint.
At 10:50 a.m., police responded to Main Street after vandals damaged two cars. The suspects likely threw rocks from a hill onto the vehicles.
At 9:11 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Main Street. One vehicle was towed. There were no injuries.
