Police Log: Fraudulent Swiss Colony Account Reported

Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Wednesday, Dec. 3

At 9:06 a.m., police responded to Sylvan Road about a stolen handbag from an office. The victim said her handbag was stolen from underneath her desk and was found at the Market Place Mall in Lynnfield. The items stolen from the bag were: $275 in cash, an ATM card, a debit card, two credit cards, a checkbook, her license and her house and car keys. Police watched surveillance video of two suspects who may stolen the handbag. Police are investigating.

At 12:48 p.m., police responded to a West Cummings Park business about a larceny by check. Someone reportedly stole a company check and wrote it out for $400.

At 12:49 p.m., a Woburn resident reported that someone fraudulently opened an account under his name at Swiss Colony. That person spent more than $1,000.

At 6:44 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Winn Street and Thistle Road. One driver was cited with failing to yield to oncoming traffic. There were no injuries.

At 10:48 a.m., police responded to Samoset Road after someone entered two unlocked cars and stole spare change, a pair of sunglasses valued at $150, a car’s owner’s manual and registration.
