Police Log: Man Charged With Domestic A&B

Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Wednesday, July 30

At 12:08 p.m., police responded with firefighters for a medical aid call. While leaving the scene, police were flagged down by a resident who said that a fire engine snapped a cable above his driveway. There were grapevines growing across the driveway on the cable. A pole supporting the cable was also loose. Police suggested the resident take photos and file a claim with City Hall.

Thursday, July 31

At 7:56 p.m., police arrested Louis S. Belyea, 57, 49 High St., Woburn, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.

Friday, Aug. 1

At 2:23 a.m., police responded to Westgate Drive after a driver struck a parked car and fled the area. Police pulled over the driver on Main Street. She admitted that she was distracted while talking on the phone and struck the parked car. The driver said she left the scene because she was scared and was going to call the police. Police cited her for a marked lanes violation.
