Police Log: Man Knocked Unconscious and Left Bleeding Refuses to Cooperate WIth Police
Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Friday, Sept. 5
At 1:43 p.m., police responded to a boat fire on Lexington Street. Firefighters extinguished the fire. Police spoke to the owner, who said he had just picked up the boat at the Beverly Yacht Club. He said he stopped at a gas station and filled both gas tanks. He got about a mile and a half away when he saw flames coming from the boat. Police believe the boat was a total loss.
At 7:41 p.m., police responded to Hess gas station on Montvale Avenue about a larceny. The employee said a customer left without paying for gasoline twice over the past week. Police spoke to the suspect who said he didn’t realize his credit card didn’t go through the first time and didn’t remember the second incident. The suspect returned to the gas station and paid for the gas.

Saturday, Sept. 6
At 3:20 a.m., police responded to Kimball Court after a man was knocked unconscious. Police arrived and found the man bleeding from the head. A person in the area said he heard a commotion and then a “loud smacking noise.” He went to investigate and found the man unconscious. Police took the injured man to Lahey Clinic. He regained consciousness, but was argumentative and wouldn’t talk to police, according to police.

At 6:50 a.m., police responded to Main Street after a driver struck a fire hydrant. She said she looked down and reached for a Coke when she struck the hydrant. The driver was taken to the hospital with chest pain. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Police notified the Department of Public Works about the damaged hydrant.
At 11:37 a.m., police responded to a car accident at Mishawum Road and Commerce Way. There were no injuries. A driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
