Police Log: Pedestrian Struck in Target Parking Lot

Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Friday, Oct. 17

At 9:53 a.m., police responded to Olsen Cadillac after someone stole rear shocks, struts and a compressor from a vehicle. The stolen parts are worth about $2,200.

At 12:32 p.m., a person reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be from NStar about owing the company money. The caller said the person owed $2,000 and that she needed to pay a portion of the bill within 24 hours. The caller also told the person she should pay with a green dot card. The woman told her son about the call and he told her it was a scam. She received another call and the person said she could pay cash if she met him at a Main Street location. The woman then called police. An officer called the phone number and the scammer hung up the phone when the officer identified himself.
