Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Tuesday, Aug. 5

At 9:36 a.m., a Locust Street resident reported a car was keyed overnight. Police believe the suspect “used extreme malice” in vandalizing the car.

At 7:27 p.m., police spotted two 17-year-olds sitting in a vehicle in the Red Roof Inn Plus parking lot. The driver pulled away and the officer noticed a brake light was out. The officer pulled the car over and saw the two teens were allegedly trying to hide something. Police found two bags of marijuana, a digital scale, a glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue and a small glass jar containing marijuana residue in the vehicle. There was less than one ounce of marijuana. The driver was cited for a motor vehicle equipment violation, the items were confiscated and police called the teens’ parents and about told them about the incident.
