Police Log: Woburn Man Charged With Breaking Into Vehicles

Friday, Aug. 22
At 3:49 p.m., a person reported seeing three or four young males slicing a vehicle’s tires on Main Street. Police spoke to them and one admitted to damaging two tires because he was “bored.” He agreed to pay for the damage. Police told him if he doesn’t pay for the damages that he will be summonsed to court for malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
At 4:33 p.m., a Woburn resident reported that someone fraudulently used her debit card to spend more than $500 in California. Police took a report.

At 6:22 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Main and Cross streets. Two people complained of sore backs, but declined transportation to a hospital. One vehicle was towed.

At 2:30 a.m., police arrested William Joseph Hinchliffe-Metrano, 25, 32 Rumford Park Ave., Woburn, and charged him with two counts of breaking and entering into a boat/vehicle for misdemeanor, larceny less than $250 and obstructing justice/interfering with an investigation. Police responded to Richardson Street after a report of a man looking into vehicles. Police arrested Hinchliffe-Metrano, who matched the description given by multiple people. Police found two $5 scratch cards and at least $7 of loose change were taken from vehicles.
