Police Log: Woman Charged With Shoplifting at Kohl's

Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Monday, Oct. 20

At 8:06 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Bedford Road and Willow Street. One of the driver’s said she was drinking coffee and didn’t realize that she was driving through a red light until it was too late. There were no reported injuries. One vehicle was towed. The driver was cited for a red light violation.

At 5:04 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Montvale Avenue and Rainin Road. One driver complained of minor back pain and was treated by Woburn Fire, but declined being taken to a hospital. One vehicle was towed.

At 7:09 p.m., police cited a Burlington man for operating a motor vehicle without a license and speeding on Sylvan Road. The man was reportedly driving 41 mph in a 20 mph zone. The driver had a Mexican license that expired in 2006.

At 7:14 p.m., police summonsed a 24-year-old Woburn man to court and charged him with shoplifting by asportation. He reportedly tried to fraudulently return a black container bucket with a lid from Lowe’s that was valued at $19.97. He admitted that he has been taking receipts out of the trash and making false returns to stores. Lowe’s issued a no trespass order.

Tuesday, Oct. 21

At 1:27 p.m., police arrested Holly Christine Gwin, 50, 2 Preakness Lane, Mashpee, and charged her with larceny more than $250 and trespassing. Gwin reportedly tried to steal bracelets and fraudulently return sneakers at Kohl’s.
