Police Log: Woman Reports Someone Used Her Phone Number, Photos to Place 'Casual Encounter' Ad on Craiglist

Excerpts from the Woburn Police Department log.

Friday, Aug. 8

At 11:20 a.m., police went to Cambridge Road after someone posted to craigslist “Horny slut for you” under the “casual encounter” section and included photos from a Haverhill woman’s Facebook account. The ad included her personal cell phone number. She said she did not create the listing and received texts and phone calls. Police told her how to get the ad removed and suggested she change her privacy settings on Facebook.

At 3:57 p.m., police responded to TJ Maxx and More about a shoplifter. The person tried to steal Dr. Dre Beats headphones that are valued at $169. Store security initially stopped the person, but he fled and ran into the woods. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 215 pounds, who was wearing a black T-shirt, beige shorts and sunglasses. Police are investigating.

Saturday, Aug. 9

At 1:21 a.m., police responded to Silvermine Road after multiple parked cars were vandalized. Car windows were smashed and tires were slashed. A witness reported seeing three males run down Pheasant Lane after she heard a loud bang.

Sunday, Aug. 10

At 5:46 p.m., police placed an intoxicated homeless man into protective custody. Police placed him into protective custody after report of a man lying on the ground and unresponsive on Main Street.

At 8:41 p.m., police arrested Linda Morrissey, 60, 134 Madison Ave., Arlington, and charged her with domestic assault and battery.

Monday, Aug. 11

At 1:09 a.m., police responded to a car accident at Bedford and Cambridge roads. One driver said he wasn’t paying attention and wasn’t sure if he had a red light or not. There were no reported injuries. Both vehicles were towed. A driver was cited for a red light violation.
