Porter and Chester Institute students raise funds for Operation Smile

Through a recent bake sale, students from PCI Woburn's Dental Assistant program raised funds and awareness for Operational Smile.

Woburn, Conn. (10 October 2014) – Students in the Dental Assisting program at Porter and Chester Institute’s Woburn campus recently held a bake sale to raise money and awareness for Operation Smile, an international charity that performs cleft lip and cleft palate surgery for children in low- and middle-income countries.

In addition to offering sweet treats for sale, the Dental Assisting students held an Operation Smile Awareness Project throughout the day to speak with their classmates enrolled in other Porter and Chester Institute programs about the devastating birth defect that affects thousands of children every year.

The total amount raised was $250 – exceeding the original fundraising goal.
