Burlington Teen Charged In Crash That Injured Off-Duty Police Officer, Tewksbury Resident
Michael Ricci, 18, of Burlington, will be arraigned on Tuesday morning and is being held on $10,000 cash bail on felony reckless charges.

NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. -- Michael Ricci, 18, of Burlington, was arrested for felony reckless conduct for his role in a crash Sunday that left an off-duty Somerville police officer severely injured.
Witnesses say Ricci was racing other vehicles in a 2013 Mercedes C300 on Interstate 95 on the northbound side when he allegedly veered onto the southbound side and crashed head on into a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Louis Remigio, 55, of Tewksbury. Remigio was transported to Portsmouth Hospital in critical condition.

The wreck also left John Bamford, the 63-year-old driver and Jaclyn Bamford,, the 61-year-old passenger of a Subaru Legacy injured The driver could not stop the car in time and crashed into the Mercedes Ricci was operating. The Bamfords, of Wells, Maine, were transported to Portsmouth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Ricci was not injured. He was being held on $10,000 bail at the Rockingham County Jail. Ricci is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning. Felony reckless conduct is a Class B felony in New Hampshire and carries a maximum penalty of 3.5 to 7 years in prison.
