School of Fashion Design

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. We went by the Sea Dog Brew Pub, on the hill above the old Mishawum train station, for a quick supper Friday night (August 22nd). The place was closed and deserted. No signs indicating why, or if they will be back. It hasn't been closed long because while we were looking for a notice, other potential customers came by and appeared to be as surprised as we were.  Anybody know what happened?

Our annual Hosta and Perennial sale will be held Saturday May 30 &nbsp;&amp; Sunday &nbsp;May 31 and Saturday June 6, 2026 at the Historic Lyman Estate Greenhouses.
We will have hundreds of plants both for the sun and shade along with a&nbsp; beautiful selection of hostas in blue, golds and variegated.We have a nice selection of herbs as well.
The Historic Greenhouses will be open during the sale, come rain or shine.
Held from 9:30 to 4:00 each day.
