Somerville Man Charged With Drug Possession

The arrest was made following an investigation.

Woburn Police and the Southern MIddlesex Regional Drug Task Force arrested a 23-year-old Somerville man for drug possession after an investigation into drug deals in Woburn.

At 10 p.m. Sunday, police arrested Stephen Berneaud, 23, 10 Canal Lane, Somerville, and charged him with possessing a Class B drug, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Investigators and an informant allegedly made three drug purchases from the Somerville man over the past month.

On Sunday, police saw Berneaud in his vehicle on Lexington Street. Police pulled over the vehicle.

The officer could reportedly smell freshly burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Police allegedly found an Oxycodone Hydrochloride pill on the floor. Police also recovered $1,385 from the Somerville man, who said it was his rent money.

They also found a clear torn baggie corner, which is commonly used to hold drugs, in the car.
