Woburn will hold a forum, “Addressing the Opiate Addiction Epidemic in Our Communities,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Woburn Memorial High School.
Members of the public are invited to attend this free and informative event. Woburn Police Chief Robert Ferullo, also a founding board member of the Heroin Education Task Force, has assembled a top-notch group of public safety speakers and experts including Detective Sgt. Brian McManus of the Woburn Police Vice Narcotics Unit, and Commander of the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan, Michael Higgins, HEAT co-founder, Lauren Baccari, adjustment counselor for Woburn Public Schools, and parent Carmen Lecchese.
Experts will offer information to parents, educators, public officials, public health workers, and all interested community members on the extent of the crisis in the region, as well as efforts under way to increase awareness, provide services for those suffering from addiction and their families, and stem the tide of substance abuse.
