Uno Pizzeria In Woburn Closing Until 2020

The closure is related to a remake of the Woburn Mall.

WOBURN, MA -- Uno Pizzeria and Grill will close its location at the Woburn Mall as part of a remake of the shopping center. The company plans o reopen the rebuilt location in late 2019 or early 2020 if all goes according to plan with the Woburn Village development. A spokesperson for the company confirmed i was closing the location but did not have an exact closing date.

In July, an architectural firm hired by Woburn Mall owner Edens LLC offered a first glimpse of a proposed makeover of the property, which includes 400 apartments, an eight-screen building and an open-air retail concept similar to those found in so-called lifestyle centers in Lynnfield, Dedham and Somerville. Hartford-based Amenta Emma Architects said Edens hopes to complete work on the makeover by November 2019.

Uno has scaled back its footprint in greater Boston in recent years. In January, it closed its location at the Burlington Mall after more than 30 years in operation.
