TEWKSBURY, MA -- Thanksgiving will be observed on Thursday, Nov. 23, this year, marking the unofficial start of the holiday season. It also means there will be several closures around your neighborhood. Here's a list of what will be open and closed this year on Turkey Day:

- Supermarkets, liquor stores: Closed
- Convenience stores: Open at owner's discretion
- Gyms: Closed or reduced hours
- Bars and restaurants: Open at owner's discretion
- Stock market: Closed
- Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed
- Libraries and schools: Closed
- Post office: Closed
- Trash Collection: Red District pickup on Wednesday, as regularly schedule. Leaf pickup continues this week.
