Woburn Celebrates Public Health Nurses Doing Contact Tracing
Nurses with the Board of Health, the city and Woburn Public Schools are conducting local contact tracing to slow the spread of the virus.
WOBURN, MA — In a video released Monday, the city of Woburn honored the work of nurses with the Board of Health, the city and the school system. Public health nurses have conducted contact tracing since the start of the new coronavirus outbreak as part of efforts to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.
"Contact tracing is the process of calling an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 and determining the identity of anyone the individual may have contacted while infected," the announcement reads. "Those individuals who had close contact with a person confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19, are contacted and advised to quarantine, which will help slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep our community safe."
