Woburn Coronavirus: Schools Working On End-Of-Year Plans
After Gov. Charlie Baker announced that schools would remain closed, the superintendent said the district is working on end-of-year plans.
WOBURN, MA — Woburn Public School officials are working on alternative plans for end-of-year celebrations, Superintendent Matthew Crowley said in a letter to the community following the announcement Tuesday that schools will remain closed through the end of the year.
"We know there will be many questions about end-of-year activities for all of our students, particularly our WMHS Class of 2020," Crowley said. "We will be working closely with each building leadership team to make plans as to what their “end of year” will look like, including traditions, celebrations, and retrieval of students’ personal items. We will share plans with you as they become finalized."
Crowley also noted that the district is awaiting additional guidance from the state. Guidance expected this week will cover best practices for remote learning, mental health support, essential curriculum standards and re-opening of schools.
