" In particular, residents are advised to wear something to cover their face in public places such as supermarkets and pharmacies and other areas of significant community-based transmission," according to the city. "The CDC notes the use of simple cloth face coverings can slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus, but do not know it, from transmitting it to others."

Residents should still maintain six feet between them and others, as part of the effort to prevent the virus's spread.
