Woburn E1 Mitey Mites Football game vs Reading

On Sunday September 21st the Woburn E1 Pop Warner football team played against Reading at the Woburn High School. It was a somewhat sunny morning and the captains for today Logan Taylor (#58), Tyler Gillardon (#62) and Zach Steiner (#64). The mitey mites kicked off to Reading and they downed it on their own 35 yard line. The defense composed of Ty Cruz (#2), Brady Cypret (#7), Alex Doan(#9), Brian Ferreira(#6), Joey Silva (#23), Evan Kolodko (#31), Hayden Laprade (#33), Tayte Roketenetz (#63), Zack Steiner (#64), Robert Scanlon (#71), and Leland Stack (#78). Numerous Trojans had solo tackles on this 1st possession for Reading, the Trojans that had these solo tackles were Evan Kolodko (#31), Ty Cruz (#2), Bryan Ferreira (#6), Tayte Roketentez (#63), and Leyland Stack (#78), due to these huge tackles Reading was forced to turn the ball over on downs to Woburn. The Trojans took over the football on their own 33 yard line. On the 1st play the football was handed off to Bryan Ferreiro (#6), he ran for 26 yards due to the help of the offensive line which included Brady Cypref (#7), Dante DellGratte (#12), Evan Kolodko (#31), Hayden Laprede (#33), Shawn Marsh (#44), Tayte Roketenetz (#63), Amber Hayden (#73) and Leyand Stack (#78). The offense moved the football down the field and Evan Kolodko (#31) ran the football for a 28 yard run and a Trojan touchdown.

The Trojans kicked off to Reading and they downed the football on the Trojans 49 yard line. The defensive series was manned by Brian Ferreira (#6), Dante DellaGrotte (#12), Sean McCarthy (#40), Shaun Marsh (#44), Matt McCathy (#48), Logan Taylor (#58), Tyler Gillardon (#62), Alex Benetez (#65), Tristian Olivera (#55), Amber Hayden (#73), Kevin Silva (#77) and Joe Silva (#87), but Reading was successful on moving the football and scoring a touchdown. The Trojans denied Reading of their extra point by a huge tackle by Matt McCarthy (#48) and Evan Kolodko (#31). Now Reading kicked off to the Trojans and Robert Scanlon (#71) had a 10 yard return. On the 1st down of the Trojans 2nd possession of the 1st half, Bryan Ferreira (#6) had a 21 yard run. Another run during this possession came by Hayden laprade (##) for an 8 yard gain, then Bryan Ferreira (#6) had a huge 9 yard run and it took the plethora of reading players to bring Bryan down. The next play Woburn fumbled the football and Reading took over the football on their own 25 yard line, the Trojans stood tall and had some big tackles by Bryan Ferreira (#6), ty Cruiz (#2), Hayden Laprede (#33), Evan Kolodko (#33), Zack Steiner (#64) and Nathan Madine (#51). Reading had to punt the football and Robert Scanlon (#71) had a 7 yard return. This concluded the first half of the football game and the score was tied 6-6.

For the start of the 2nd half the Trojans received the football, and the Trojans started on their own 34 yard line. On the 1st play of the series the ball was handed off to Evan Kolodko (#31) and he ran for a 66 yard touchdown. The Trojans kicked off to reading they downed the football on their own 35 yard line. Our defense had some great solo tackles by Evan Kolodko (#31) and Sean McCarthy (#40). Some other great tackles by the Trojans were by Bryan Ferreira (#6), Logan Taylor (#58), Tyler Gillardon (#62), Tayte Rokenetz (#63), Kevin Silva (#77), Leyland Stack (#78) and Joseph Silva (#87); this was not enough and Reading scored a touchdown and was successful on their own extra point attempt. The score was 13-12 Reading.

On the Trojans 2nd possession Evan Kolodko (#31) received the handoff and ran for a 40 yard gain. On the next play it was a quarterback sneak and Hayden Laprede (#33) and ran for a 32 yard touchdown. For the Trojans extra point attempt, it was another quarterback sneak and Hayden Laprede (#33) was successful. The Trojans were leading Reading by a score of 19-13. The Trojans kicked off to Reading and they downed the football on their own 41 yard line. This was a huge possession by Reading; they moved the football down to the Trojans 10 yard line. It was 1st and goal and only a few seconds remained on the clock and Alex Benitez (#65) and Kevin Silva (#77) made a huge stance and they tackled Reading and this concludes the football game. The final score was 19-13, a victory for the Woburn E1 Mitey Mites.
