Woburn Host Lions Club 72nd Annual Halloween Parade: Call for donations.

Dear Woburn and surrounding area residents,

My name is Joe Quintanilla. I am the 76th and first Blind president of the Woburn Host Lions Club. I have not allowed my lack of vision to darken my dreams. I ran for my high school cross country team, completed 8 marathons, and competed for the US in the 1996 Paralympics. I graduated from Boston College and have a post grad degree from B.U. which helped me get my job at the National Braille press, which makes books for the blind. My lifelong love of baseball led me to start two blind Beepbaseball teams - the Boston Renegades and the Boston Strong.

I can personally attest to how the funds raised through the Halloween Parade and Monster Dash improve the lives of blind children and adults. I ask you to help me support as many people like me.

Last year, over 30,000 smiles and costumes lined Woburn's Main Street for our Annual • Halloween Parade. Over 250 children and 100 runners and walkers made for a great costume fun run at the Monster Dash and 401K. In our 250th year of our country, nothing is more patriotic than helping fellow citizens. Our traditions of fun and fund raising for Massachusetts Lions Eye Research and Woburn Host Lions charities are only possible with your donation.

We know you are asked frequently for donations from many others, but we are hoping you will find our two premier events a worthy cause. We are happy to accept donations in any amount and there are special opportunities to donate and be recognized during and after our events.
