Woburn Man Arrested With Credit Card Skimming Device

Police are also investigating Nicholas Jewett, 27, of Woburn, in connection to an assault on Interstate 93 Thursday night.

NORTH READING, MA -- North Reading Police seized a BB gun, dozens of credit cards, a phony drivers licenses and a credit card reader during a traffic stop Thursday night. Nicholas Jewett, 27, of Woburn, was charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of a credit card reading device. North Reading Police are also investigating him for a connection to an assault on Interstate 93.

Jewett was stopped by police on Route 28 in North Reading Friday. The license plate of the car he was driving had been queried multiple times by police departments in connection to an assault with a BB gun on Interstate 93 in Woburn Thursday night.

Jewett was scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon. Additional charges could be forthcoming, police said.

In March 2012, Woburn Police arrested and charged Jewett with breaking and entering a building in the daytime (felony charge), possession of burglarious instruments (screwdriver), receiving stolen property over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250 and possession of a Class D drug (marijuana).
