Woburn Man Charged With Drunk Driving for Second Time

The driver reportedly hit a pole.

Woburn Police arrested a man after he allegedly drove drunk and crashed into a telephone pole on Sunday night.

Police arrested Mario Batista Nazaro, 36, 9 Lake Ave., Apt. C, Woburn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor (second offense) and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Police responded to a one-car accident on Fowle Street after a car went up a sidewalk and struck a telephone pole. Officers spoke to Nazaro, who said he was driving the vehicle.

Police reportedly found he was unsteady on his feet and they could smell alcohol on his breath. He admitted to drinking three beers. Police asked him to perform field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed.
