Woburn Man Indicted for Aggravated Rape of Student
James Martin, 36, was formally charged by a Grand Jury on Friday.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced multiple Grand Jury indictments on Friday, including one involving a resident from Woburn.
James Martin, 36, was formally charged with aggravated rape of a child and child enticement.
Martin once worked as teaching assistant at Ottoson Middle School in Arlington. Prosecutors allege he raped a former student who attended the school.

Martin pleaded not guilty to the charges back in March. His bail was set at $250,000.
Martin is forbidden from contacting the victim or any other children under 16.

Authorities said Martin met the victim, who was less than 16 years old at the time, at some point during his 2011-2013 tenure at Ottoson. After interacting through what police describe as a āmobile phone-based social media service,ā Martin and the victim agreed to meet in January.
During the meeting, police said Martin sexually assaulted the victim in an Arlington parking lot, then left the victim at a restaurant.
