Woburn Councilor Haggerty Wins State Rep Primary By 27 Votes
Anne Landry of Reading received 35.04% to Haggerty's 35.58%.

WOBURN, MA --Woburn City Council President Rich Haggerty eked out a 27-vote victory over Anne Landry of Reading in the Democratic primary for the 30th Middlesex District in the state House of Representatives Tuesday. With 14 of 14 precincts reporting, Haggerty had 1,813 votes, or 35.58%, followed by Landry (1,786 votes, 35.04%) and Woburn School Committee Chairman Joseph Demers, who had 943 votes.
The seat represents Wards 2-6 in Woburn and precincts 2-5 in Reading. Haggerty will face Woburn resident Claire Malaguti, who ran unopposed in the Republican primary, in November's general election. In total, five candidates entered the race after Rep. James Dwyer (D-Woburn) said he would not run for reelection.
In the only other contested local race of note, Lexington Selectman Michelle Ciccolo topped three other candidates in the Democratic primary for the 15th Middlesex district, which represents Wards 1 and 7 in Woburn and all of Lexington. Ciccolo will run unopposed in November's general election, as there were no Republican or independent candidates running this term
