A Woburn woman booked a vacation rental in late December in the North Conway, New Hampshire, area.
However, when she drove up there on Friday, Jan. 2, she discovered that the address she had booked for $700 does not exist, according to police.
The woman, who had exchanged several emails with the supposed “property owner,” was hung up on repeatedly by the poster after discovering the scam. North Conway Police told her “several” people have fallen victim to this same scam.
