$75 COVID-19 Vax Offer Back In Worcester During Vacation Week
The state is offering the incentive to boost COVID-19 booster shots. Here's where to get the $75 bonus.
WORCESTER, MA — This is one school vacation week trip that will help you earn money.
The state Department of Public Health is bringing back COVID-19 vaccination incentives for the upcoming school vacation week. For each COVID-19 booster or first or second dose, adults and of-age kids will get a $75 gift card, according to the state.
The gift cards are available to any state resident who gets vaccinated at the special "Get Booster" clinics. The ones in Worcester open over school vacation week include:
- Feb. 18, noon to 3:30 p.m. — Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square, for ages 6 months and up
- Feb. 20, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Worcester Central Community Branch YMCA, 766 Main St., for ages 6 months and up
- Feb. 22, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. — Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square, for ages 6 months and up
- Feb. 25, noon to 3 p.m. — Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square, for ages 6 months and up
The state is especially focused on COVID-19 booster shots, which can help protect people from newer strains of the virus.
"Staying up to date on vaccines, including boosters, is the most effective way to prevent serious illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19. While vaccine protection goes down over time, boosters keep you protected. Boosters also help keep you safe from serious COVID-19 even if you’ve already had it," DPH said in a news release.
As of Feb. 8, about 5.6 million Massachusetts residents had received the primary series of two COVID-19 vaccine shots out of the state's 6.9 million residents. Only about 1.4 million had received the two subsequent booster doses that have been made available.
