LUNENBURG, MA One lucky Massachusetts Lottery player won a massive prize after purchasing a ticket in Worcester County.
A Quincy-based trust, Red Oak Nominee Trust of 2026, claimed a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$15,000,000 Colossal Millions” instant ticket game. The ticket was purchased at a Gulf location at 451 Massachusetts Ave. in Lunenburg.
The trust, represented by trustee Ronald Kearns, opted to receive its prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000. The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission did not say what the trust intends to do with this money.
The “Colossal Millions” game, which is one of the state’s highest-paying scratch-off tickets, gives players several ways to win. Players can collect prizes by matching any of their numbers to the listed winning numbers, while bonus symbols, like a “gold bar” icon, can multiply winnings or unlock larger cash prizes.
The game’s top prize is $15 million, and only one player has claimed that grand prize so far, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery. The odds of winning a $1 million prize in the game are about one in 1.89 million.
The Gulf location in Lunenburg will also recieve a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winning tickets sold throughout the state on its website. You can find it here.
