WORCESTER, MA — Ocean State Job Lot and the Worcester County Sheriff's Office are distributing thousands of cans of infant formula on Tuesday to organizations that serve families in need.
More than 10,000 cans of infant formula donated by Ocean State Job Lot will be distributed July 28 at the Worcester County Jail & House of Correction farm warehouse, 5 Paul X. Tivnan Drive.
At least nine organizations were confirmed to receive formula: Worcester Housing Authority, Catholic Charities, Yes We Care, El Buen Samaritano, Friendly House, Every Day Miracles, Pernet Family Health, Project New Hope for Veterans and Families on behalf of Sully's Baby Pantry and Safe Exit Initiative.
The sheriff's office was continuing outreach to additional organizations, according to the advisory.
The distribution is part of Ocean State Job Lot's broader efforts to expand infant formula access.
In June, the company launched a "Buy, Give, Get" Baby Formula program that lets customers buy a $20 formula donation at an Ocean State Job Lot register, have formula provided to a family in need through charitable and community partners and receive the full $20 back as a Crazy Deal Gift Card for a future purchase.
