BCI's Partnership with Bay Path University a Success. First Cohort Graduates and Next Session Announced

BCI behavioral clinicians specialize in the care of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) throughout Central Massachusetts.

Behavioral Concepts, Inc. (BCI), a company of behavioral clinicians specializing in the care of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) throughout Central Massachusetts is proud to announce the graduation of their first Bay Path University cohort.

Through their partnership with Bay Path University, BCI staff members were able to earn their Master's degree and work towards Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®) certification without leaving the office. Nine BCI employees who were part of the first cohort of students graduated in June and will sit for the BCBA® exam in August.

The BCBA® is master-level certification in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and is issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board®. To be eligible for the BCBA® certification, a Master's degree (or a PhD) is required as well as 1,500 hours of supervised experience in the field. The Bay Path University program enables BCI staff members to get their classroom instruction from Bay Path University professors at BCI’s 345A Greenwood Street, Worcester location.

Students complete their required fieldwork at BCI’s Worcester or Fitchburg ABA Centers or working in Home & Community Services.

BCI celebrated their Bay Path University graduates on June 21, 2017 in an awards ceremony which was followed by a private dinner reception for students, BCI executive staff and Bay Path Faculty at VIA in Worcester. BCI recognized two students for their personal achievements in the program.

Kerrianne Pelletier, Program Coordinator for Center-Based Intensive Day Services and a resident of Charlton received "Top Student" Award for having the highest overall GPA, and Mikayla Gonzalez, Lead Therapist and resident of Blackstone was awarded "Most Innovate Research Project".

BCI’s second cohort of 13 students is slated to graduate in the fall of 2018.

Registration for the third cohort is currently underway, and classes commence in October 2017, with an expected graduation date of 2019.

As part of the program with Bay Path University, BCI underwrites 60 percent of the tuition cost. Students/staff who take part in the program commit to working for BCI for two years after receiving their BCBA®.

"We are thrilled to announce the success of our Bay Path University program and congratulate our first graduating class," said Jeff Robinson, Ph.D., BCI Founder and Executive Director.

He continued, "Insurance carriers will only cover treatment provided by clinicians with BCBA® certification. Our partnership with Bay State University is unique. Not only does it support the career advancement of BCI team members, it enables them to work towards their credential onsite. It also helps ensure that BCI has plentiful certified clinical coordinators and practitioners on staff to meet the fast-growing demand for, assessment , behavioral, consultative and, educational services for children with ASD and their families throughout Central Massachusetts."
