'Black Panther' Sequel May Soon Film In Worcester
"Wakanda Forever" was rumored to be coming to Worcester. Shooting will reportedly take place in August.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester may soon be a stand-in for Wakanda.
"Wakanda Forever," the sequel to the 2018 Marvel Studios film "Black Panther," will shoot scenes in Worcester in August, according to Boston.com. Production on "Wakanda Forever" began in June in Atlanta, and the movie is set for a 2022 premier.
It's unclear what type of filming will take place in Worcester, but scouts were in the city last month to scout locations for a chase scene, according to the report.
Marvel Studios has not released plot details about "Wakanda Forever," but the entire original cast will return — except for Chadwick Boseman, who died suddenly last August after battling cancer.
Worcester in recent years has been the site of many film productions. Just this summer, the reboot of the Chevy Chase classic "Fletch" drew actors Jon Hamm and John Slattery to town. This week, Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds and Octavia Spencer were in town shooting the comedy "Spirited," according to MassLive.
