Break-In Suspect Caught After He Tries to Cash Check Stolen From the Business: Worcester Police
A man allegedly broke into Crates to Credenzas in Worcester on Sunday.

WORCESTER, MA — Police on Monday arrested a man who allegedly broke into a business, stole some power tools and a check, and was caught by trying to cash that check.
On Monday, Dec. 19, around 11:30 a.m., police were called to the business Crates to Credenzas at 100 Barber Ave. for a report of a past break. The owner said that someone had broken into his business sometime during Sunday afternoon, stealing several power tools that were valued at more than $250.The suspect also unsuccessfully attempted to get into a safe.
Around 1:30 p.m., detectives were still on the scene when the business owner got a call from Commerce Bank on Lincoln Street saying that a man was inside the bank trying to cash a business check from Crates to Credenzas.
Worcester Police responded to the bank to locate the man, but he had fled on foot. Police began checking the area and located the man at a bus stop at 440 Lincoln St.
The male was identified as Donald Baukman, 29, Worcester. Based on surveillance video at both the bank and 100 Barber Ave., police were able to determine that Baukman was the male who broke into Crates and Credenzas and attempted to cash a check stolen from that business at Commerce Bank.
Detectives placed Baukman under arrest for Breaking and Entering in the Daytime for a Felony, Receiving Stolen Property over $250, and Uttering a False Instrument.
