WORCESTER, MA—A couple pulled over to talk with a person they knew, and he allegedly robbed them when they did so.
On Monday, Oct. 31, around 2:08 p.m., Worcester police headed to 28 Greenwood St., where an armed robbery had just occurred. A 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman told police that they were driving up Ekman Street when they saw someone they knew. They stopped to talk to the man, and he pulled out a handgun and demanded their cash when they pulled over. The man took the cash and ran off into the back yards of some nearby homes, and was spotted jumping over fences, said police.
Officers at the scene identified the suspect as 25-year-old Chad Bishop, Reeves Street, Worcester.
Police headed to his home address, and found Bishop hiding in the attic. He came down from the attic, was arrested, and charged with armed robbery. Bishop also had an existing arrest warrant for domestic related offenses in effect.
No one was injured, and detectives were able to recover some evidence in a nearby vacant lot.
Bishop will be arraigned tomorrow at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
