WORCESTER, MA — A COVID-19 and flu shot site at the Mercantile Center will no longer offer the vaccines starting this week, according to the Worcester Division of Public Health.

The UMass Memorial-run site was one of four main weekly vaccine clinics in Worcester. The Mercantile Center site will still offer free PCR testing for COVID-19. The cessation of vaccines will take effect Thursday.

AIDS Project Worcester will still offer a weekly Monday clinic for COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. The Central Branch Community YMCA also hosts a weekly clinic on Mondays. The city also hosts two weekly clinics at the main public library on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

As of Jan. 25, about 136,000 of Worcester's 206,000 residents had been fully vaccinated, according to the state Department of Public Health. About 30,000 residents had received the full vaccination plus two booster shots.
