Creative Hub To Debut In Worcester Historic Boys Club Building
The long-vacant historic building in the city was transformed into a new community arts destination.

WORCESTER, MA — A long-vacant historic building in the city was transformed into a new community arts destination.
Creative Hub Worcester will officially open on Apr. 16, inside the former Boys Club building at 2 Ionic Ave. There will be a ribbon-cutting and opening celebration to celebrate the building's transformation.
The 30,000-square-foot space, built in 1914, was one of the original 15 Boys Clubs in the U.S., according to the Arts and Business Council of Greater Boston. The Worcester Boys Club closed in 2006.

The redevelopment project converted the structure into a space for the development of new and established artists through dedicated studio space, community building and artistic events.
The space is also expected to provide more than 80 high-quality, fully subsidized toddler and preschool childcare slots for Worcester families and to host regular events that promote artistic and diverse cultures within the city.

Project funding was provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund, a program of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, administered through a collaborative arrangement between MassDevelopment and the Mass Cultural Council, the Arts and Business Council said.
The grand opening celebration scheduled for Apr. 16 will include public tours of the building, artist demonstrations, light refreshments, and an after-party with DanceAway Sound Productions.
The opening is expected to be one of Worcester’s most significant new cultural space launches of 2026, adding a permanent studio and performance space at a time when demand for artist housing and creative infrastructure continues to grow.
