Kelley Square I-290 Ramp To Close For Construction
The closure is related to the ongoing rebuilding of the Kelley Square intersection.
WORCESTER, MA — Late-night drivers will need to avoid a key exit along I-290 in downtown Worcester this week.
MassDOT will close the westbound exit 13 overnight for two nights starting Tuesday. The closures will last from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. from March 10 to March 11, and again from March 11 to March 12. Eversource will be conducting utility work during the closures.
The chaotic Kelley Square intersection is being rebuilt to include a peanut-shaped rotary. On top of that, construction crews are busy building the new Polar Park, and they're using Madison Street as a main access point.
But the biggest upcoming event happens on May 5 when the direction of Harding and Millbury streets will be reversed. MassDOT will hold a meeting on April 2 at 6 p.m. at the Hibernian Cultural Center, 19 Temple St., to prepare commuters for the change.
